The Colli Eugenei is one of the most interesting topographical regions we've ever visited. With a collection of goose-pimpled shaped hills, vineyards circle the tops of these unique feature of the landscape. And Bordeaux grapes have been growing there for more than one-hundred years. The Versacinto opens with a classic Bordeaux nose of red currant, a bit of spice, along with some uniquely Italian elements of green olive and earth. The palate is full and direct with the same fruit, along with enough tannin to stand up to any cut of meat.
A wine with this kind of Bordelaise pedigree is pitch-perfect for steak with a rich red wine sauce and purée of potatoes, but the inherent lightness here also makes it a great match for grilled meats and vegetables.
