While rosé from Provence is celebrated the world over, we love rosé from the Loire just as much if not more. These wines come from grapes that ripen slowly in very poor soils, resulting in lots of mineral tension, yet abundant fruit. The Lune et l'Autre from Nicolas Paget opens with lots of strawberries and cream on the nose, with just a touch of earthen edge. The palate is brisk, full, and deep, especially for rosé, with a light, bright finish.
A rosé that's both a perfect aperitif, but also quite gastronomic, the Lune et l'Autre will pair well with nothing at all, but also light vegetable preparations like grilled leeks with herb oil, a summer tartare of beets, or roasted corn with mayo and chili.
