A special white wine from the mainland of Greece, Roditis is the grape here, and it’s the most widely planted in the country. This is a great, classical expression of the variety. With aromas of citrus and a bit of wet stone, the palate is characterized by brisk acidity, direct white fruit elements, and the same tense minerality in the finish. A white with a bit more body and substance, this is a great option for some classic Mediterranean fare. Think seafood stews along the lines of a Bouillabaisse or Cioppino, or a roasted chicken with lots of lemon and rosemary. The slight vegetal quality of the wine makes it a fabulous match for any seasonal vegetable platter, too.
